This handcrafted kohiki-style matcha bowl is adorned with delicate, hand-painted red plum blossoms, or kōbai (紅梅), a beloved seasonal motif that symbolizes renewal and quiet strength.

The soft white glaze of kohiki—created by applying a white slip over a dark clay body—adds a gentle, rustic warmth that enhances the natural texture of the piece. Paired with a delicate 100-tine chasen (茶筅) bamboo whisk, this set offers a smooth and frothy matcha-making experience.

Chasen with a higher than 80 tine count are favored for their ability to create a finer, creamier foam, making them ideal for usucha (薄茶), thin matcha, preparations and everyday tea rituals.
