Mt. Fuji & Sakura Furin Wind Chime

Cherished for its gentle and cooling sounds in Japan’s warmer months, this furin, or traditional windchime, is crafted from crystal glass using traditional glass-blowing techniques.

The interior features a subtle wave-like texture that refracts light beautifully, enhancing the hand-painted design of Mt. Fuji and floating cherry blossoms. Finished with maki-e lacquer techniques, the motif gains depth and brilliance, while carefully cut detailing inside the glass makes the imagery even more striking.

Created in Aizu-Kitakata, a region known for its enduring craft traditions, this wind chime blends glasswork and lacquer artistry into one refined piece.
