Mt. Fuji & Sakura Tenugui

A tenugui is a traditional Japanese cotton cloth used for everything from hand towels to gift wrapping and décor. Whether used practically or displayed as a tapestry, this piece brings a bold expression of Japan’s scenery into everyday life.

Crafted in a workshop rooted in Kyoto’s yuzen dyeing tradition, it is dyed using traditional hand screen-printing techniques (katazome). The fabric is made from “Tokutoka” cotton—considered one of the highest-quality materials for tenugui—valued for its smooth texture and durability. Because it is dyed rather than printed with heavy pigments, the natural softness and breathability of the cloth are preserved.
