Embrace the art of Japanese tea brewing with this elegant teapot, where the beauty of cherry blossoms meets the timeless refinement of Tokoname ware craftsmanship.
Tokoname ware (常滑焼) is a traditional Japanese pottery from Aichi Prefecture, with a history dating back to the 12th century, and celebrated for its high quality and functionality.
This teapot is a unique collaboration between two expert artisans. Crafted from black clay by Hirotaka Umehara, a traditional Tokoname ware craftsman, it is then hand-painted with overglaze by Kutani Ware painter Tamura Tsugumori. Designed to be light and practical, this piece balances usability with artistry. The decoration combines multiple techniques, including red spots and gold leaf, all carefully applied to harmonize with the teapot’s form.
The teapot showcases an intricate Yoshino cherry blossom design wrapping around the body, accented with shimmering gold patterns that bring a refined elegance to every tea-serving moment.
